A Wild Surprise on the River

Writer's picture: Michael MontesMichael Montes

Brook trout can seem to be one of the most elusive species. When one finds itself on the other end of your line when stripping streamers for brown trout, celebration is called for. Its flame-lit belly and and dollops of red and blue represent the unique colors donned by this fish during its spawning season.

This goes to show that expectations should never be set on time spent outdoors. Whether, it be on a day out on the water, or in a week in the backcountry, nature always has surprises planned for us.

That's Wild.

That's what we said too. That's Wild Outdoors is founded on the experiences of two enthusiasts who simply cannot get enough; of dreamers, who share a bond through nature and expression; and of storytellers, who can't let go of a creative obsession. Whether separated by a rod's length of chalky water, or by a mountain range that spans across state borders; together, we share a commitment to the stories that just need to be told.
